Summer is officially seven days away, although the heat last week convinced us all it was already August. Summer means festival season is in full swing for the community.
This Saturday, June 18, from 10am to 7pm will be the Maryland Traditions Folklife Festival at Creative Alliance in Baltimore. Maryland Traditions is a program of the Maryland State Arts Council, and is a statewide program that supports communities to discover, share, preserve and sustain traditional arts and culture.
The free Folklife Festival celebrates traditional and folk arts from every part of Maryland, and this year’s annual Folklife Festival features
performances Bill Kirchen and Too Much Fun, the Orioles, Billy McComiskey, Phil Wiggins, Cheick Hamala Diabate, the Zionaires, Daryl Davis, Ahmad Corhanie and the Persian National Meic Ensemble, and Carl Grubbs. I hope to see you there.
Until next week–
