I look forward to joining our partners from Maryland Citizens for the Arts (MCA) for Maryland Arts Day in Annapolis tomorrow. As I wrote last week, Governor O’Malley has proposed a budget that includes level funding to the State Arts Council for FY 2013. However, the budget is not final until it passes the General Assembly. Now is the time for our community to make its voice heard and actively encourage our representatives to make arts funding a priority.
Over the past few weeks the GBCA Program Committee has been hard at work and will soon be announcing dates and locations throughout the city for the 2012 Happy Hours. Also in formation are a series of Brown Bag House Talks to generate discussion on issues critical to the cultural community in the Greater Baltimore area. Topics will range from the practical to the theoretical and will reflect the diversity of our sector.
Watch out—more to come,
