Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!

In partnership with GBCA, Artists U has begun its first series of 101 Classes in Baltimore. There was an overflow crowd last night brimming with enthusiasm and ideas. GBCA is exploring other ways we can work with local organizations to coordinate our training programs, avoid duplication where possible, and offer the broadest range of learning and networking opportunities to the Greater Baltimore cultural community. A big thank you goes to Kelly Hodge Williams of Business Volunteers Unlimited for our terrific conversation on this topic.

The impact of the Supreme Court ruling last week on the Healthcare Affordability Act is on our minds at GBCA. With the help of GBCA Board member Stacie Sanders Evans of Young Audiences of Maryland, I am continuing discussions to learn more about how we can help artists and individuals understand their options.

The Program Committee is hard at work on the RFP for the GBCA website and BaltimoreFunGuide.com. We will be looking for ways to receive feedback about your needs and ideas as we work to improve and refine these important tools. For right now, please help to spread the word about this comprehensive region-wide arts and culture calendar so that we can help build your audiences.

My heart goes out to those of you still without power after last week’s violent storm and I hope you will soon have relief!

P.S. Congratulations to What Weekly for appearing in the Huffington Post!
