Executive Director’s Letter
November 13, 2012
As the holidays approach, GBCA fields many inquiries about where to score the best gifts for the art and culture lovers on your list. It is great to know that so many of you are interested in gifts that carry meaning and a connectedness to local artists, artisans, and performers. Next week, we will be publishing the holiday offerings of GBCA members including arts fairs and special events. If you are a member and want to participate, Melanie Robey will be reaching out to you via e-mail. In the meantime, you can contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is a big week for the Baltimore Museum of Art with the much anticipated re-opening of its Contemporary Wing. Be a part of the festivities and plan to attend one or more of the events scheduled for this weekend.
Congratulations to the three newest b-grant winners! Check out the work of Jenny O’Grady, Donna Jacobs, and Leah Cooper on the Baker Artists Awards web site. Six additional b-grants, as well as the Mary Sawyers Baker Prizes are yet to be awarded so make sure to log on and nominate yourself if you haven’t done so already.
It was great to see folks out at the Benjamin Banneker House last week. Be sure to mark you calendar for our next Happy Hour with the Baltimore Jazz Alliance and WEAA on Monday, December 3 at Mark Cottman’s Gallery in Federal Hill.
All the best,
