As summer winds down, Baltimore City is revving up for the Grand Prix. September also brings the Baltimore Book Festival, Baltimore Innovation Week, and the launch event for Mobtown Moon, a project that features many of the area’s most talented musicians.
GBCA is no exception and is gearing up with a range of Happy Hour and Brown Bag offerings throughout the fall. I hope you will join us for the first Arts & Culture Happy Hour of the season on September 9th, which will be held in partnership with the Greater Baltimore Tech Council.
Following her passing, GBCA created a special fund to honor the amazing work of Nancy Haragan. The Nancy Haragan Program Fund was established to honor her visionary leadership and supports innovative programming. The Fund’s mission is to “enable activities that allow the cultural community to innovate, sustain and flourish through the years. Initiatives it may support include convenings, workshops, mentoring and other efforts that will spur creative thinking, expression, and leadership—all designed to strengthen the cultural community.”
In this spirit, GBCA has recently used a small grant from the fund to improve its webcasting capacity, which will showcase the innovative programming of our members. As the year progresses, we’ll be talking more about this special member benefit.
All the best,
