Exectutive Director’s Letter
September 03, 2013
Welcome back! September is upon us along with new seasons and many opportunities to experience the region’s diverse arts, culture, history, and humanities events.
Have you noticed the new ‘Opportunities’ section of the newsletter? In addition to the ever-useful JobsPlus, a member benefit that offers terrific exposure to potential employees and prospective employers, GBCA is now highlighting the availability of awards and grants as well as competitions both locally and nationally. This section is expected to expand further when we launch the new FunGuide this spring.
In just one month on October 1st the 2014 Baker Artists Award site will open for nominations. In preparation for this new cycle, and in addition to his work on the BaltimoreFunGuide, David London’s responsibilities have expanded to include management of the Baker site. If you are an artist and need assistance with your nomination, you can reach David at email@example.com. In the meantime, everyone is encouraged to explore the site’s more that 700 nominations to see the excellent work of artists from the Baltimore region. GBCA extends its gratitude and best wishes to photographer Cory Donovan who is moving on after supporting the Baker site since its inception.
Happy almost fall,
P.S. Be sure to check out the most recent issue of Style Magazine and their picks for the top ten women in the arts, including GBCA Board Member and Arts Empress Doreen Bolger.
