Executive Director Letter
September 24, 2013
Are you scratching your head wondering how the new healthcare laws will affect you? On Wednesday, October 16 join GBCA and HealthCare Access Maryland for a free public forum just for the creative class. The event will be held at 6:30 at Baltimore Theatre Project where the experts will be on hand to provide information and field questions about benefits and how to shop, compare and enroll in health coverage. Please RSVP here.
From the largest to the smallest, arts and culture organizations and artists play an important role in neighborhood vibrancy. Given our interest in the neighborhoods where we live and work as well as the experiences of our audiences (including recent tension between artists/residents and the police), we all have a stake in a strong working relationship with public safety officials. The Baltimore City Police Department is in the midst of a strategic plan and is inviting all members of the community to provide feedback regarding their perceptions of the BCPD and community safety concerns through this online survey. Your voices should be heard and I urge you to participate.
Baltimore Innovation Week is upon us, so be sure to check the schedule for a wide range or events. Next up? Baltimore Book Festival, of course. Starting this Friday, take a fall stroll through Mt. Vernon and enjoy literary adventures from Baltimore and beyond.
All the best,
P.S. Feeling especially creative? FunGuide redevelopment continues and we are still on the hunt for a spectacular new name. What would you call the region’s most comprehensive, online arts and culture calendar? Let us know what you think and we’ll keep you posted on our progress.
